Bay Ridge Farm, a business founded by Jeff Katz and Bud Wolf over 30 years ago, has consistently produced top horses and riders. The barn's atmosphere is positive, personal, and supportive of individuals' goals and interests in all aspects of show horsemanship. Bay Ridge prides itself on successfully teaching and showing with young children in the Short Stirrup division, as well as Grand Prix amateurs and professionals.
Bay Ridge has a rigorous care program for each horse in the barn. Our grooms are selected with great care and are reviewed and monitored daily. We have a nutrition program tailored to meet the needs of each horse, and we review our horses' health and well-being every day. Owners' preferences in feed and supplements are carefully discussed and adjusted as the horses' work and programs change. We maintain very close relationships with our veterinarians and farrier, ensuring open communication between all parties.
JEFF KATZ
Jeff Katz has been a trainer for over 30 years. He started riding as a Junior, and showed many winning Junior Hunters. Jeff has competed and been champion at every major horse show in the nation.
Jeff Katz’s clients have been winners in the Hunter, Equitation and Jumper show divisions, including Championships in the AA, AO and Children's Hunter and Jumper classes at A rated shows. Jeff Katz trained the most winning Junior Hunter in the Junior Hunter Division: Remember Me, owned by Kendle Handtmann.
BUD WOLF
Bud Wolf grew up riding in the Chicago area of the mid-west. He was an avid fox hunting participant and showed from a very young age. He has won at all of the major California shows. Bud Wolf’s unique talents and kindness have allowed many young horses to enter the show ring and to move on to national acclaim as winners.
Bud Wolf joins the BRF team at all horse shows – He rides horses in various classes, sets up the barn and trains students as well.
BLY MANN
BRF Barn Manager, Bly Mann, has worked with horses and their care for over 40 years. She has close relationships with our veterinarians, farrier, grooms, and clients and makes sure that our horses and clients are happy.
She works under our veterinarians in rehabilitation and care, and is a certified laser technician which gives our boarders and training clients exclusive access to this high tech service.
